Our Process

An injury claim can feel unfamiliar at a time when you already have enough to manage. At Imani Injury Firm, our process is built around understanding your circumstances, preparing the evidence, and helping you make informed decisions. Attorney Faran Imani leads the legal strategy, with a support team that helps organize records and case communication. The work develops around your case, and several steps may happen at the same time.

1. Start With Your Story and Your Questions

Your first step is a free phone or Zoom consultation. No paperwork or preparation is required. Tell us what happened, what you are going through, and what concerns you most. We will listen, answer your questions, and help you understand the next step.

You do not need a timeline, a police report, or medical records before you call. We can help identify and obtain the information needed for your case. If you later want help organizing what you already have, our optional consultation guide is available.

2. Understand the Representation Before You Hire Us

If the matter is one our firm can accept and you decide to hire us, we explain the scope of the work and the written representation agreement. We discuss attorney involvement, communication, fees, and case costs so you understand the arrangement before representation begins.

Faran stays personally involved and leads the legal strategy. Our team supports that work through case coordination, document collection, scheduling, and communication. Keeping your contact information current and sharing new developments helps us work with you effectively.

3. Investigate What Happened

We examine how the incident occurred, who may be responsible, and which evidence can address disputed questions. Depending on the case, relevant information may include reports, photographs, video, witness accounts, vehicle information, property records, and insurance documents. We identify gaps and consider what further investigation or professional analysis is appropriate.

Faran’s insurance-defense background informs this preparation. Understanding how a claim may be challenged helps us evaluate the evidence and respond to questions about responsibility and damages. Tell us about potentially relevant photographs, messages, recordings, or witnesses early, and preserve the original materials you have.

4. Document How the Injury Has Affected You

A claim should explain the effect an injury has had on the person living with it. We work to organize medical information, treatment history, missed work, expenses, and the practical difficulties you describe. Relevant prior conditions and changes over time also matter to an accurate evaluation.

Concrete examples can help explain limits on work, household responsibilities, sleep, or everyday activities. If ongoing limitations or future care are part of the claim, we evaluate the factual and medical support. Keep us informed about treatment developments and provide records or provider information as requested.

5. Present the Claim and Evaluate Settlement Options

We prepare a presentation connecting the incident, the injuries, and the losses supported by the evidence. We consider the insurer’s position, address disputed issues, and evaluate settlement proposals in the context of your case. The available evidence, insurance, and circumstances influence that evaluation.

We explain the options and their practical consequences so you can weigh an offer with informed advice. You decide whether to accept a settlement. An outcome from another person’s case does not establish what yours will be worth.

6. Discuss Litigation When Appropriate

When a lawsuit is appropriate, we discuss the reasons for filing and what the process involves. Litigation may include written requests for information, depositions, expert work, court hearings, and preparation for trial. Settlement discussions can continue while a case is in court.

The timing depends on the facts, the issues, and the court’s schedule. We explain significant developments and decisions as the matter progresses, including what we need from you to prepare the case.

7. Understand Resolution and the Financial Terms

A resolution can involve more than agreeing on a settlement amount. Relevant terms may include a release, attorney fees, case costs, and liens or reimbursement obligations that affect the amount available to you. We explain the applicable terms and remaining steps so you understand the financial picture.

Protecting Your Net Recovery

A settlement amount is only part of the picture. What you receive after deductions matters too. Our attorney fee will never exceed your net recovery, meaning the amount you receive after attorney fees, case costs, medical liens, and other applicable deductions. We negotiate medical expenses when appropriate and reduce our own fee if needed to honor this policy. We explain the fee, costs, and applicable deductions so you can understand how the recovery is distributed.

Our consultation is free. If there is no recovery, you owe no attorney fees or case costs. If there is a recovery, the written agreement explains how the attorney fee and case costs are calculated and paid. We review those terms before representation begins.
